Set Design

In my role as a set designer, I specialize in transforming concepts into fully realized environments that enhance and support the narrative of each film. I meticulously craft sets that align with the creative vision of the project, ensuring that every element—from layout to texture—contributes to an immersive and authentic storytelling experience. My approach involves close collaboration with directors, production designers, and other key creatives, ensuring that each set is brought to life with precision and artistic integrity. I produce industry-standard drawings that are clear and informative, allowing the construction team to build the sets with ease and accuracy, ensuring a smooth transition from design to physical reality.

SKETCHING

Scenes and environments requiring visualization or construction are initially sketched through methods ranging from hand sketching to digital drafting. These drafts are then finalized and passed on to the construction crew.

RENDERING

For presentations to networks and producers, as well as, for material determination and allocation, select scenes are rendered with specific camera angles (in collaboration with the DOP), appropriate lighting (with input from the DOP and LX), and chosen materials (in discussion with the Director).

BUILDING

Upon approval of all drawings by the Director, Producers and Production Designer, technical drawings are sent to the construction crew. I oversee this building process as an Art Director or as a Productio Designer and once complete, I coordinate with the Set Dec team to dress the set and prepare it for filming.

SHOOTING

With the set constructed and dressed, the filming process commences. Actors are positioned and final adjustments to lighting and camera angles are made in collaboration with the DOP and LX teams. The scene is then shot, ensuring all set elements contribute to the visual narrative as envisioned by the director.
